2022’s Top 100 LA Comics to Watch (100-81)
100. Jimmy Callaway
I have the distinct honor of introducing the world to Former Honorable Mention: Jimmy Callaway. I’m glad he made the cut this time by landing the #100 spot, a spot previously held by comedian and documentary filmmaker, Josh Edelman. That’s huge. I’m happy for you Jimmy.

99. Egan Robinson
Egan Robinson is an absolutely fantastic comic who against all odds gained some serious momentum in 2021. Whether be in The Lab, at the Fourth Wall Comedy Cafe, Third Wheel Studios, or some dingy bar show, I love watching Egan work. Nothing is going to stop him from being an LA comedy favorite by the end of 2022.

98. Kim McVicar
I met Kim McVicar many years ago while signing up for Potluck at the World-Famous Comedy Store and since then, she has become one of my favorite comedians on the LA scene. Kim is funny, professional, and supportive. Every agent or manager in LA should consider taking on cause I really think she’s going to do very well in 2022.

97. Andre Mulligan
I see this door guy at my home club the World-Famous Hollywood Improv everywhere and he’s legitimately gotten better at comedy. We also saw The Many Saints of Newark together and we’ve been talking about starting a podcast where we review movies. I doubt it’ll come into fruition. Excited to see what else might be in store for Andre in 2022.

93. Josh Ogle
Josh is a good man, a fantastic comic, and we’ve been through the trenches together. Also his girlfriend makes some bomb ass deviled eggs that ended up being the inspiration to my opener which you can watch here. I had like 20 deviled eggs on her birthday.

90. Simon Gibson
This comedian known for his wacky hijinks has been having good 3-minute sets at the Happy Hour Open Mic in The Lab on Tuesdays at my home club the World-Famous Hollywood Improv and has been invited back for those coveted 5-minute showcase sets at Lab Work on Sundays. The sky is the limit for this quirky Portlandian.

88. Chip Nicholson
The king of cold opens. Also, he gets me in ways most people don’t. I don’t wanna make this about me, but sometimes I feel pretty misunderstood. This is my second attempt at making a comprehensive top 100 list of my peers and I’m trying to please everyone this time around.

85. Adam Newman
This fucking guy. Not only is Adam Newman pretty funny, but he is also in the Guinness Book of World Records for doing the world’s highest mic drop, a record I have tried beating on many occasions, but I have yet to book a club with a stage high enough to. One day Newman. That record is as good as mine.

83. Ryan Radusinovic
I’m not putting comedians who book shows onto this list for spots, something people complained about last time. However, I’ve been submitting to Ryan for spots and have been unsuccessful. I don’t get it. I got a good tape at Helium Comedy Club in Portland, a clip of which you can watch here. I literally have a Peacock credit. What the fucking fuck! That said, he has a ton of killer jokes and is an overall funny guy.

81. Mav Viola
Mav is an absolutely amazing comic who you should have on all your shows. I can’t emphasize that enough. I love seeing her around and am always excited to see her do comedy. I know what you’re thinking. Who the hell could possibly rank higher than Mav Viola? Click next to find out.
